The Elite reduces unwanted hair with unsurpassed efficacy and comfort. That's because its revolutionary technology combines two optimal wavelengths in one system: the 755-nm Alexandrite laser and the 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser.

Since you can switch between wavelengths during a single procedure, you can select the most appropriate laser for any given hair or skin type. You can also perform multiple procedures during the same visit. This means lasting results for the softer, smoother skin you’ve dreamed of having.

Each session is 5-30 minutes, depending on the area size of hair you wish to be treated. The laser is powerful enough to destroy or damage the hair follicles responsible for the unwanted hair growth, but it is gentle enough to cause no damage to the surrounding skin. After the treatment you can expect to see a gradual decrease in the thickness and amount of hair in the treated area. There is no downtime afterwards, but because the treatment targets the hair only in its active phase of growth, multiple treatments may be necessary.

During your Cynosure Apogee Elite Laser appointment, you can expect a thorough consultation with your dermatology provider to discuss your treatment goals and ensure the procedure is customized to your skin type and needs. The treatment typically lasts between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated. Your provider will begin by cleansing the treatment area, and you’ll be given protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the laser.

As the laser is applied, you may feel a mild snapping sensation or a slight stinging, similar to a rubber band against your skin. The laser system includes a cooling mechanism to help minimize discomfort, making the treatment more comfortable. Afterward, you may experience slight redness or swelling, but this typically subsides within a few hours. Your dermatology provider will offer guidance on post-treatment care to ensure optimal results and a smooth recovery.
