Botulinum Type A is a powerful muscle toxin protein produced by Clostridium botulinum bacterium. When injected in tiny amounts directly into a specific muscle, the specific action of that muscle is relaxed. This procedure is very effective at softening the lines that come from facial movements like frowning and squinting, tightening the facial skin.

What can I expect from Botulinum Type A?

Frown lines and crow’s feet are formed from years of repeated muscle contractions used for frowning or squinting. Botulinum Type A targets the underlying causes of these lines temporarily leaving skin that looks younger and smoother. Don’t worry about looking too “overdone,” Botulinum Type A is a technique sensitive treatment.

What is a treatment like?

A treatment of Botulinum Type A takes only 10 minutes and requires minimal downtime. Some call it “the lunchtime procedure.” During the procedure our providers will inject Botulinum Type A into the muscle surrounding the sides of your eyes or around the brows!
 
Does the treatment hurt?

While most patients find only slight discomfort in the procedure, if you are concerned, our providers can apply ice or a topical anesthetic to numb the area before treatment.
